I was going to talk about CODEX Alimentarius today, but will be preempting that discussion to talk with Bliss Tew about his current efforts to end the Fed.
CODEX is an issue the Utah chapter of the John Birch Society has been working on by trying to educate members, the general public, and politicians. For more information go to http://jbs.meetup.com/13
The John Birch Society is not the only group concerned with CODEX Alimentarius.
The University of Oregon published:
VI. Trends
National
• Utah may have the strongest natural products sector in the country. Utah Natural Products Alliance supports Utah’s $3 billion dietary supplements industry (which encompasses more than just natural products).International
• The global market for herbal remedies was at more than $60 billion in 2003 and growing
steadily, according to the WHO.
• International regulations on strengths of herbal supplements are currently being decided by the Codex Alimentarius Commission. The outcome could influence local businesses.
• The global sector grew at a rate of 8% annually from 1994-2001.
This meetup group was formed in Canada strictly prevent the United Nations (UN), the World Health Organization (WHO), and World Trade Organization (WTO) from advancing CODEX Alimentarius in Canada http://www.meetup.com/Codex-Action-Committee
Here’s an article from someone based out of Italy Codex Alimentarius: Globalizing Food and Health
I hope to do the next show on CODEX Alimentarius. Please watch these films and check out the distributors web sites. If you want to keep the freedom to purchase the vitamins you chose, we need to inform our legislators. Vitamins are already prescription only in Germany. The Pharmaceutical Industry is lobbying the the World Trade Organization to push this through globally. The WTO would like to become the global regulator of vitamins. If they have their way, you will only be able to get vitamins by prescription.
Posting information on the benefits of vitamins will be made illegal. An example is Vitamin D has been found to reduce the risk of developing Multiple Sclerosis by 50% to 60%.
Multiple Sclerosis Resource Center
USA Today: Multiple Sclerosis and Vitamin D
My husband has Multiple Sclerosis. When I went to my husband’s neurologist to talk to him about Vitamin D, he said studies are done all the time and they don’t have any credibility. “I don’t pay any attention to them.”
I said to myself isn’t that what science is? They do studies, investigate things, and then come to conclusions based on the data?
We found a new neurologist. I should not have to rely on someone like that writing a prescription for Vitamin D. In addition to that this man, as well as many of the neurologists in the area, do presentations for the company who makes Avonex (a medication to treat Multiple Sclerosis). Avonex costs $1,500.00 per month. Another drug the company makes a drug called Rebif costs $2,500.00 per month.
Can you see a conflict of interest here?
This is just one example. Every time you watch TV you probably see an advertisement for a pharmaceutical. The drug companies stand to lose a lot of money over issues like promoting Flax Seed Oil over Lipitor. Flax Seed Oil worked better for my father. It won’t be legal to promote that though. Actually because of the FDA’s cooperation with CODEX Alimentarius, I don’t believe it’s legal to say that now.
You can make a difference by becoming a delegate to put people on the ballot who will not support CODEX. Even if you don’t get elected as a delegate, you should at least know who the delegates are in your precinct. You can then provide them with information on issues like CODEX Alimentarius, and other freedom threatening movements.
