Before anyone criticizes WikiLeaks they should take into consideration the wise words of Judge Andrew Napolitano

<itunes:summary>On on today's show I will be covering the work of Walter Lippmann and Edward Bernays.nbsp; The material will probably be quite offensive to some people.nbsp; I don't have enough time to cover all the material so I will post the information in it's entirety here.

To start off I'm playing the audio from the first two video clips in this playlist.

In this video Noam Chomsky explains were he got the title for his book Manufacturing Consent.nbsp; It actually came from Walter Lippmann's book Public Opinion.

The one thing Noam Chomsky failed to do in Manufacturing Consent (though he didn't make the film) was give a good explanation as to who Walter Lippmann actually was.nbsp; The Wikipedia article on Lippmann states:

Walter Lippmann (September 23, 1889 - December 14, 1974) was an influential American award-winning writer, journalist, and political commentator. Lippmann was the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize in 1958 and 1962 for his syndicated newspaper column, "Today and Tomorrow."

To get better information on who Walter Lippmann actually was and why everyone should read his book Public Opinion
, I recommend yet another book Propaganda
by Edward Bernays. nbsp; Propaganda was originally published in 1928.nbsp; The book was recently republished by a Canadian publishing company Ig.

On the back of the book it explains who Edward Bernays was along with Walter Lippmann:

The nephew of Sigmund Freud, Edward Bernays (1891 ndash; 1995) pioneered the scientific technique of shaping and manipulating public opinion, which he called ldquo;engineering of consent.rdquo; During World War I, he was an the integral partmdash;along with Walter Lippmanmdash;of the U.S. Committee on Public Information (CPI), a powerful propaganda machine that advertised and sold the war to the American people as one that would ldquo;Make the World Safe for Democracy.rdquo; The marketing strategies for all future wars would be based on the CPI model.

I will jump ahead and read an excerpt from Propaganda which can be found here.

With Walter Lippmann and Edward Bernays in mind I will play a few excerpts from a speech by Australian journalist John Pilger on Barack Obama and the antiwar movement.nbsp; This is quite relevant because John Pilger brings up both Edward Bernays and Walter Lippmann when describing the US political climate and Barack Obama.

You may want to read up on John Pilger so you know his background and understand he's not some crackpot off the street.

I want you to see how different the perception is from someone outside of the United States, and how drastically different this man from Australia frames his argument than the US media.

Here Pilger explains Barack Obama is a phony who's getting thousands of people killed by expanding war and military funding in the Middle East. Pilger states Obama did an internship at a company called "Business International Corporation, which has a long history of providing cover for the CIA with covert action and infiltrating unions on the left."nbsp; John Pilger states he is aware of this because they were especially active in his own country Australia.

I'm sure everyone will be quite shocked when they see the video because Pilger is speaking to Socialist Workers of America (July 4th 2009).nbsp; It appears this is the information that's being disseminated among socialists.nbsp; Isn't this far worse than claiming Barack Obama wasn't born in the United States?nbsp; Also you probably can't terrorize socialists by telling them someone is a socialist.

In the above video John Pilger states Barack Obama has authorized $46 million ($46,000,000.00) for a military base in Colombia.

The BBC recently reported Obama is sending troops to seven military bases in Colombia:

Left-wing South American leaders have condemned US plans to increase its military presence in Colombia at an emergency summit in Argentina.

Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez s...</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>On July 11th on K-Talk I interviewed Jeffrey Deskovic.nbsp; Deskovic was wrongfully convicted of a rape and murder at the age of 17.

There are many disturbing aspects to this case.nbsp; Deskovic was cohursed into a false confession after six (6) hours of interrogation.nbsp; One of the most disturbing aspects of Deskovic's case is the prosecuting attorney knew Deskovic's DNA did not match the semen sample found on the victim; nevertheless, the prosecuting attorney pursued the case.

Deskovic was offered a plea bargain where he would have spent less time in prison, but being innocent and believing justice would prevail, he did not take the plea bargain.

Out of the sixteen (16) years Deskovic spent in prison, Judge Sonia Sotomayor added six (6) of those sixteen (16) years.nbsp; She did this by refusing to allow Deskovic's two (2) appears to go forward.

The actual murderer killed again, putting the DNA of the actual perpetrator on file.nbsp; Thanks to the DNA of the actual murderer turning up on file and the Innocence Project who agreed to take Deskovic's case, he was finally freed -- that is after spending the prime of his youth behind prison bars.

Jeffrey Deskovic would like to speak at Judge Sonia Sotomayors Supreme Court confirmation hearing, but he is being ignored by both the Democrats and Republicans.nbsp; He has contacted Orrin Hatch's office who refers him to Jeff Sessions, who ignores his request.

Deskovic needs our help, if he's going to have the opportunity to speak at the confirmation hearing.nbsp; Here are some suggestions on how you can help.nbsp; You can share this radio interview.nbsp; You can post the below video on your web page, blog, Twitter, Facebook page, MySpace, etc.nbsp; You can call in on talk radio shows, write to your local news paper, and post information about Jeffrey's case.nbsp; You can also add your elected officials on Facebook and then post information on Deskovic's case on their Facebook page.

Learn more about the details of this case, please listen to the July 11th program.

Jeffrey Deskovic now does advacasy work.nbsp; One issue Deskovic is now championing is a requirement to have all police interrogations video taped, so it will be apparent whether or not police are following ethical procedures.

Deskovic also does speaking engagements for victim advocacy.nbsp; If you would like to have Jeffrey Deskovic as a guest speaker, please contact him at JeffreyDeskovicSpeaks.org

<itunes:summary>On June 13, 2009 I interviewed Steve Erickson with the Citizens Education Project.nbsp; The Primary focus was the Utah Fusion Center, which Mr. Erickson has been trying to bring to the attention of Utah citizens.

Fusion Center are not isolated to Utah, they are going up all over the US.

When asked how he became aware of the Utah Fusion Center, Steve Erickson stated he first became aware of the MATRIX about the time Governor Leavitt was on the way out, and Governor Walker was on her way in, which would have been 2004.

The Fusion Centers started being pushed right after the MATRIX program fell apart, so Mr. Erickson began monitoring the issue.nbsp; He believes he first caught wind of the Fusion Center coming to Utah in 2006.

The Citizens Education Project used the Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA), which is Utah's equivalent to the Freedom of Information Act, to obtain information on the development of the Utah Fusion Center.

Salt Lake City has created their own Fusion Center at the city level.nbsp; Most recently Salt Lake Citynbsp; received $3 million from the Department of Homeland Security.nbsp; The money came from the Obama administrations stimulus funds, otherwise known as the American Recovery and Revitalization Act (ARRA or bailout #2).

Bonneville Research also puts out a report called the Monday Report, which listed how the ARRA funds are being distributed to all of the cities in Utah.

At the last meeting of the Executive Appropriations Committee of the Utah Legislator May 19th CEP spotted information in what is called the Federal Funds Report.nbsp; Every month or so there's a report given to the leadership of the Utah Legislator on new federal funds coming into Utah.nbsp; The report stated Utah Public Safety Department had received $14 million from the Department of Homeland Security over the past couple of years, and had $18 million still pending.nbsp; About 43% of the funds are passed to local law enforcement, but there's not much information on where the other 57% is going.

Steve Erickson stated the difference between the MATRIX and the Fusion Centers, is the MATRIX database was a centralized database being run by a private company by the name of Seisint, Inc.nbsp; Since that time Seisint Inc was acquired by ChoicePoint, who was then acquired by LexisNexis.nbsp; The Fusion Centers are government operated database systems that may collect data from private entities.nbsp; Fusion Centers maintain their own databases rather than sharing a centralized database, although they may share data.

We also covered the use of cameras being placed around Salt Lake City, and facial recognition software.

One caller by the name of Gerald called in to recommend everyone watch the film Enemy of the State.nbsp; He believes the film is a wake up call to the potential abuse of the Fusion Center.nbsp; I stated I have not seen the film, but I used to know someone who had worked for the NSA who stated everything in the film is real.nbsp; The NSA really has the capabilities portrayed in the film.

I recommended checking out the documentary Orwell Rolls in his Grave, for an insight into why the corporate media is not covering the Fusion Centers.

To stay up on the Issue Mr. Erickson recommended checking in with the Utah ACLU.nbsp; They have a web site acluutah.org and a Facebook page.

More Information:

For more information on how the Utah Fusion Center may be abused, or why it may be abused people may want to take into consideration three historical psychological studies and concepts.

		The Lucifer Efect
		The Milgram Expeririment
		The Stanford Prison Experiment

These are all experiments on why good people are capable of committing atrocities such as those committed by the Nazis in Germany.

<itunes:summary>Today I will be referring back to my post Is Is China Buying Kennecott Copper?nbsp; I will examine the financial policies of the Heritage Foundation and explain why I believe their policies gave China their large reserve of US dollars, and an economic advantage.

I will go on to explain why the Heritage Foundations policies are diametrically opposed to Reaganomics, contrary to their claim.nbsp; This is based off from an article by Paul Craig Roberts who served as an economist under the Reagan Administration and is said to be the "Father of Reaganomics."nbsp; All referenced material can be found on my earlier post Is China Buying Kennecott Copper.

In Crucible of Crisis, Paulson, Bernanke, Geithner Forge a Committee of Three

By David Cho and Neil Irwin
 Washington Post Staff Writers
 Friday, September 19, 2008; Page A01

From the rescue of Bear Stearns to the takeovers of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and American International Group, all the key decisions have been made by Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr., Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke and Timothy F. Geithner, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Timothy F. Geithner helped organize the bailout of AIG. AIG has paid the most money out to Goldman Sachs. Henry M. Paulson was a Chief Officer at AIG until 2006 when Bush appointed him to be Treasury Secretary http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Paulson#Goldman_Sachs Obama

People who worked for Goldman Sachs got second place for donating to Barack Obama's campaign http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/contrib.php?cycle=2008#38;cid=N00009638

 http://counterpunch.org/hudson03182009.html

Herersquo;s the problem with all the hoopla over the $135 million in AIG bonuses: This sum is only less than 0.1 per cent ndash; one thousandth ndash; of the $183 BILLION that the U.S. Treasury gave to AIG as a ldquo;pass-throughrdquo; to its counterparties. This sum, over a thousand times the magnitude of the bonuses on which public attention is conveniently being focused by Wall Street promoters, did not stay with AIG. For over six months, the public media and Congressmen have been trying to find out just where this money DID go. Bloomberg brought a lawsuit to find out. Only to be met with a wall of silence.

Until finally, on Sunday night, March 15, the government finally released the details. They were indeed highly embarrassing. The largest recipient turned out to be just what earlier financial reports had rumored: Paulsonrsquo;s own firm, Goldman Sachs, headed the list. It was owed $13 billion in counterparty claims. Herersquo;s the picture thatrsquo;s emerging. Last September, Treasury Secretary Paulson, from Goldman Sachs, drew up a terse 3-page memo outlining his bailout proposal. The plan specified that whatever he and other Treasury officials did (thus including his subordinates, also from Goldman Sachs), could not be challenged legally or undone, much less prosecuted. This condition enraged Congress, which rejected the bailout in its first incarnation.

It now looks as ifnbsp; Paulson had good reason to put in a fatal legal clause blocking any clawback of funds given by the Treasury to AIGrsquo;s counterparties. This is where public outrage should be focused.

Letrsquo;s go after the REAL money given to AIG ndash; the $183 billion! I realize that this has already been paid out, and we canrsquo;t get it back from the counterparties who knew that Alan Greenspan and George Bush and Hank Paulson were steering the U.S. economy off a real estate cliff, a derivatives cliff and a balance-of-payments cliff all wrapped up into one by betting against collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) and insuring these casino bets with AIG. That money has been siphoned off from the Treasury fair and square, ...</itunes:summary>

Bill Joy, cofounder and Chief Scientist of Sun Microsystems, was cochair of the presidential commission on the future of IT research, and is coauthor of The Java Language Specification. His work on the Jini pervasive computing technology was featured inWired 6.08.

One topic covered by Bill Joy is the book The Age of Spiritual Machines by Ray Kurzweil. Kruzweil quotes a passage from the Adystropian Scenario written by a well known mathematician:

First let us postulate that the computer scientists succeed in developing intelligent machines that can do all things better than human beings can do them. In that case presumably all work will be done by vast, highly organized systems of machines and no human effort will be necessary. Either of two cases might occur. The machines might be permitted to make all of their own decisions without human oversight, or else human control over the machines might be retained.

If the machines are permitted to make all their own decisions, we can't make any conjectures as to the results, because it is impossible to guess how such machines might behave. We only point out that the fate of the human race would be at the mercy of the machines. It might be argued that the human race would never be foolish enough to hand over all the power to the machines. But we are suggesting neither that the human race would voluntarily turn power over to the machines nor that the machines would willfully seize power. What we do suggest is that the human race might easily permit itself to drift into a position of such dependence on the machines that it would have no practical choice but to accept all of the machines' decisions. As society and the problems that face it become more and more complex and machines become more and more intelligent, people will let machines make more of their decisions for them, simply because machine-made decisions will bring better results than man-made ones. Eventually a stage may be reached at which the decisions necessary to keep the system running will be so complex that human beings will be incapable of making them intelligently. At that stage the machines will be in effective control. People won't be able to just turn the machines off, because they will be so dependent on them that turning them off would amount to suicide.

On the other hand it is possible that human control over the machines may be retained. In that case the average man may have control over certain private machines of his own, such as his car or his personal computer, but control over large systems of machines will be in the hands of a tiny elite - just as it is today, but with two differences. Due to improved techniques the elite will have greater control over the masses; and because human work will no longer be necessary the masses will be superfluous, a useless burden on the system. If the elite is ruthless they may simply decide to exterminate the mass of humanity. If they are humane they may use propaganda or other psychological or biological techniques to reduce the birth rate until the mass of humanity becomes extinct, leaving the world to the elite. Or, if the elite consists of soft-hearted liberals, they may decide to play the role of good shepherds to the rest of the human race. They will see to it that everyone's physical needs are satisfied, that all children are raised under psychologically hygienic conditions, that everyone has a wholesome hobby to keep him busy, and that anyone who may become dissatisfied undergoes "treatment" to cure his "problem." Of course, life will be so purposeless that people will have to be biologically or psychologically engineered either to remove their need for the power process or make them "sublimate" their drive for power into some harmless hobby. These engineered human </itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>I need to make some updates.nbsp; There were a few points I covered in the show that were different from my below post.nbsp; On the show I covered a Guantanamo Detainee who's genitals were sliced with a scalpel as part of the torture process.nbsp; Notice this was not covered by the US media:

I'm leaving the above links exposed so you can see just by looking at them this report came out of the UK and not the US.

I also pointed out how Barack Obama plans to handle the case.nbsp; He's maintaining Bush's State Secrets policy to block the case from going forward.nbsp; Obama's plan to maintain Bush's State Secrets policy was reported by a US columnist by the name of Glenn Greenwald who rights for Salon Magazine.nbsp; Mr. Greenwald is a Constitutional Lawyer and non partisan individual.nbsp; Despite the fact he appears to be a Democrat, he has defended Ron Paul against attacks by liberals on several occasions.

Obama fails his first test on civil liberties and accountability -- resoundingly and disgracefully

We should never as a society accept someone's genitals being sliced by a razor. If someone really is a dangerous criminal, lock him up for life. If he really has information that can save lives, why not try sodium pentathlon? We should never lower ourselves to this disgraceful level, or we are no better than Nazis. What kind of a human being can slice someone else's genitals with a scalpel?

A caller who has traveled abroad also wanted to recommend http://www.cctv-9.com He described their news coverage as excellent.

I would like to bring to everyone's attention an article by Paul Craig Roberts, which I will read in this radio broadcast.nbsp; This article was originally brought to my attention by Rob Alexander and Brodie Mower from the Salt Lake Chapter of the Campaign for Liberty.

Before I get started though, I would like to bring everyone's attention to my last post on Provo Police beating a man name of Chris Lauridsen with nightsticks.nbsp; This is an important issue, and I have posted some pretty important data in that post on how people vote in General Elections.

Chris Lauridsen's story actually relates into this Paul Craig Roberts' article because if we had more locally owned media, outrageous events such as this would surely get more news coverage.

I would like to thank Rob Alexander and Brodie Mower from the Salt Lake Campaign for liberty for bringing this article to my attention.

First let me give you a background on Paul Craig Roberts if you haven't already heard of him.nbsp; The article I am about to read to you can be found here.

http://baltimorechronicle.com/2009/010909Roberts2.shtml

Paul Craig Roberts is an economist who served as an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan Administration earning fame as the "Father of Reaganomics". He is a former editor and columnist for the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and Scripps Howard News Service. He is the author of Supply-Side Revolution: An Insider's Account of Policymaking in Washington; Alienation and the Soviet Economy: The Collapse of the Socialist Era and Meltdown: Inside the Soviet Economy, and is the co-author with Lawrence M. Stratton of The Tyranny of Good Intentions: How Prosecutors and Law Enforcement Are Trampling the Constitution in the Name of Justice.

This article is published in the Baltimore Chronicle with permission of the author.

Paul Craig Roberts recommends going to news sources outside the US.nbsp; The sites outside the US Mr. Roberts recommends are:
