On Tuesday January 6th 2009 Jason Chaffetz appeared on Stephen Colbert’s Colbert Nation.

I remember Jason at the Strawberry Days Parade in Pleasant Grave. He ran the entire length of the parade back and forth to each side to shake every person’s hand. It was like he ran the length of the parade twice, and it was a very hot day.

Colbert states he heard the 3rd Congressional District of Utah has both Republicans, and staunch Republicans.
Living in Utah County I believe everyone simply registers as a Republican. Most of the delegates in my precinct voted for Chris Cannon at the Utah State Republican Convention. One of those delegates has stated he used to be a registered Democrat. His reason leaving the Democratic Party and joining the Republican Party is the Democrats support gay people being Boy Scout leaders.
The same individual said he voted for Chris Cannon because Chris had a lot of connections and was going to bring a lot of money into the state for various projects — also known as pork barrel spending and ear marks.
Actually after getting to know everyone all the delegates (except for one) are Democrats in most respects, excepts for the aspect of religion.
Colbert takes a swing Chaffetz for supporting illegal immigration reform. This is to be expected since Stephen Colbert is a Liberal Democrat Catholic who is doing a parody of Bill O’Rilley.
